If you’re the only one working on it, it can be a part of the best-fitting circle.

Note that it doesn’t even have to be a call at all - as long as it moves forward & progress is reported, it doesn’t matter how you do it.

However, usually its easiest to discuss things & get others accountable through regular calls.

• To get your call added to the calendar, ask in 🤡-events-planning
• When starting calls, make sure you @relevant-roles
• Lead the calls, consider the holacracy-way
• After the call, make sure to summarize actionable items in appropriate channel
• Then, sync your progress with the circle above

Write what you need most help with (gonna be useful for the next quest) but also think about some starter quests that newcomers can easily pick up.

• Make sure your Dework board or sub-board is up to date & so are your Quests
• Stay on top of the channels you’re in charge of & help other players

This allows other people to get a view of what needs to be done, increasing the likelihood of someone picking a task up but also making the rewards automatic.

Note: staying on top sometimes also means attending other calls related to what you’re doing

One of the most important things to do as a champion is to find a deputy. A deputy can be your right hand &/or complementary to your skills. They should make everything easier or at least less lonely.

From time to time, you should also check out the introductions thread & 🏟-metasquare to see if there are any newcomers that might want to join you.

• Overall, invite more people to contribute to your part of MetaGame
• Recognize newcomers who become active in your project & tell the community champion

Make sure you know how to use Coordinape & give people props when they do something useful for your domain, guild or raid. If you need any help, ask in 💫-champions-ring

If you started within another circle but it got too big to fit all your contributors, you’re gonna have to start another circle which reports progress to the starting circle.

Once you have your own circle:

• Make sure to ping your people to add their contributions & allocate their GIVEs
• Make sure they know how to use Coordinape
• Make sure to report your circle’s contributions to the circle above

If you think your contributors aren’t using Coordinape properly, feel free to increase your GIVE budget so you can offset their misallocations - but more importantly, make sure they learn.

We understand this is a lot to take in! Take a deep breath & know you can step down at any minute.

Your well-being is a priority.

• If you at any point don't think you can continue carrying out your Championing responsibilities without making sacrifices that shouldn't be made, just make sure to let us know as soon as possible.
• If you start losing your cool, which isn’t uncommon when herding cats - make sure to breathe before responding. As a champion, its super duper important you are kind to people.
• If you get frustrated with contributors, vent your frustrations in 😤-venting-n-support or 💫-champions-ring

When it comes time for you to step down from your role, it would be nice to make sure there is somebody ready to take over or that there’s at least a playbook written for doing what you do.
