People often feel uneasy by the idea that 'to create a sustainable future we need #degrowth' It makes it feel as if everyone's lives are going to get worse. 

We need to shift the narrative - degrowth does not mean the end of growth altogether!🧵

We need degrowth in consumerist sectors that are producing financial capital for the few at the expense of public goods for the many - fast fashion, rapid cycle consumer electronics, luxury cars, yachts and watches.
How much more of this crap do we really need?

We need growth in areas that are building capital across a diverse spectrum of values - intellectual, experiential, spiritual, cultural, social, living, material AND financial. 

This is the foundation for building a better world for all, and it's worth getting excited about!

We don't want to grow beyond the donut, but with the right kinds of innovation, we can grow the donut itself!

Discussed with my girlfriend on what the commons is and the gap in markets in valuing public goods. 

I had a discussion session with my aunt. And she comments that for governaments to take care of our happpiness, our happiness should have some tipe of financial gain for them - like lowering the rates paid for medical assistance.

I didn't want my friends to agitate them further with filming them, but we had an interesting discussion. The main concern of them was the time people take to care about the effect their purchases have on their environment.
